NRF8001 and OTA Over-the-air

Hi! I have been trying for over a year to figure this out, but I am unable to, and I would hope it be pretty straight forward since OTA is already in the Nordit Master Control Panel App. I Want to connect this module www.adafruit.com/.../1697 to an arduino nano and upload a hex file to the arduino using the Nordic Master Control Panel app and the OTA feature in the app but I have been unsuccessful. Can you share step-by-step instructions and sample code of what needs to be done? Including a wiring diagram. I thought if I upload the optiboot bootloader to the arduino and wire up the module it would work, but I am having trouble. I have read all the documentation, but I need a good tutorial to demonstrate OTA uploading. Thank you David Edwin!

Thanks John

  • Yes, the arduino nano does use that mcu www.arduino.cc/.../ArduinoBoardNano. It has an atmega328. I have attempted this project many times with the bluetooth module above and the arduino nano and have not been able to get it to work. I have even paid a more veteran developer to try and he failed. Can you give step by step instructions? Or try it with any arduino and see if you can upload a simple blink sketch via OTA. The ble-optiboot is well documented, however I have scoured the internet and havent been able to find one person who has actually got it to work.

    Thanks John
