How to scan LTE-M networks and connect to them

Hello, guys.

I just wondered why use LTE Link monitor from nRF Connect make nRF9160 scan lte-m networks and even connects to it.

And when I'm trying to use external MCU to control it - it is not able to connect to network.

I send the same commands that I see in logger of LTE Link monitor.

Even I add some commands that I read in documentation about AT commands.

I use serial LTE modem firware.

Please help, because I don't know what the problem is.

As I understood we need to lock band when CFUN=0 (modem is off). But which band I should lock?

No, you don't need to lock any bands.

Are you able to communicate between the MCU and nRF9160 in the first place? Can you send the AT commands and get response to them via UART?
