About LTE and GPS antennas

Hi,

I'm trying to use the nRF9160-DK(Ver.1.0.0) for LTE communication and GPS location information acquisition.

I found a list of LTE antennas at this URL. However, I was able to confirm that location information was uploaded to "DEVICE MANAGEMENT" of "nRF Cloud" without connecting an external antenna to J1 or J2.

Is it correct to recognize that connecting an external antenna is not essential?

Sorry for the basic question, but any advice would be very helpful.

Hi,

the DK has on board antennas for both GPS and LTE, so external antennas are not needed, but for to test better GPS performance an active external antenna is added in the DK box.
