Is nRF52 DK still supported by Thread Topology Monitor v1.3.0? Other dev kits?

Kind folks,

Situation:

The product page for the Thread Topology Monitor v1.3.0 lists the following compatible dev kits (to which I've added the PCA numbers):

  • nRF52840 DK (PCA10056)
  • nRF52833 DK (PCA10100)
  • nRF522 DK (PCA10040)

But the download contains a different set of firmware files for direct loading in the dev kits, based on chip and PCA number (in both Windows and Linux downloads):

  • The file(s) for the nRF522 DK (PCA10040) is missing.
  • Files for the nRF52840 Dongle have now been added.

Questions:

  1. Is the nRF52 DK (PCA10040) still supported?  If so, where's the hex file for it?
  2. Do you anticipate that support for the nRF5340 DK will be added soon?  Any other dev kits or dongles?

Am currently working on Matter development, so being able to run TTM with my current collection of dev kits (especially since deliveries of them are currently spotty) would be appreciated.

Mike

  • Hi,

The supported devices are listed in the nRF Thread Topology Monitor documentation on our infocenter.

nRF52 DK contains a nRF52832 chip, which does not support IEEE 802.15.4/Thread operations. This chip is therefore not supported in the Thread topology monitor (TTM) application.

I see that nRF52 DK are listed under "Complementary development kits" under TTM product page, which may lead to this kind of confusion. I will let our Web responsible know about this.

I do not expect support for nRF5340 DK in TTM. As far as I know, there are no new releases planned.

    Best regards,
    Jørgen
