nrf Programmer Error "program operation not supported (Origin: "Error when starting fw program.")"

I am trying to program my Thingy:53 with the Edge Impulse precompiled application firmware which I downloaded from the nordic website. The nrf Programmer Desktop app is showing me this error:

I don't know why is it showing this error. I have connected my Thingy:53 to my PC through a USB C cable. Plz somebody help me.

Hi, 

Do you follow the user guide Updating through USB? Make sure to remove the top cover on the Thingy53 and Press SW2 while switching SW1 to the ON position to get into the mcuboot mode before programming.

Yes, I tried that but still the same issue. Is it possible the SW2 switch is faulty? I tried to program the device the nrf programmer mobile app over bluetooth and it was working fine. But I couldn't upload the same firmware using the DFU mobile app. I think it coulnd't turn on bootloader.

Do you "remove the top cover" to press SW2? Without taking the cover off, it's impossible to make SW2 be pressed. Please make sure this and the SW2 position.

Yes, I pressed the exact buttons as shown in the image and followed the exact steps given in the documentation.

Make sure to press SW2 while switching SW1 to the ON position. Holding the SW 2 until the SW1 is switched from the off to the on position. Let me know if this can help or not. Thanks.
