nRF Connect for Desktop applications do not see (cannot select) Nordic devices.

I use nRF Connect for Desktop v3.12.0 (the latest) and its apps:

• Bluetooth Low Energy (the latest standalone application v4.0.0)
• Programmer v3.0.4 (the latest)

Can't select the following devices:

• nRF52840 - Dongle
• nRF5340 - DK

But I have an empty list of choices.

Tell me what can be done about it.

I will add one more thing, there is a suspicion that this version of the application does not work correctly with Windows 7 (the same devices and the same applications work well on another system with Windows 10)

Hello,

Your suspicion is correct. Windows 7 is no longer supported and the newer releases of nRF Connect for Desktop is not supported on Windows 7 anymore either. If you need to use Windows 7, try the following possible workaround:

Uninstall your current instance of nRF Connect for Desktop and install version 3.7 by following the instructions in this answer.

You can also take a look at this ticket, where someone experienced a similar problem as you and managed to make it work with the workaround and a few other fixes. The above workaround is also linked in that ticket.

If you are able to upgrade to a supported version of Windows (10 or 11), it is recommended to do so.
