nRF 52832 NFC for beacons

Hello,

very early evaluation question, the 52832 has NFC-A. Is a mobile phone capable of reading from this device (some arbitrary user data) ? Now I've started looking into NFC, there's a number of standards NFC A, B, F, V. Also to note, when I mean read from this NFC-A device via a mobile phone, I don't mean with any other external components except the Antenna.

I am looking into BT LE beacons that can use advertising extensions (long range) but when up close they need to be identifiable via NFC.

Hi,

The NFC on the nRF52832 is a listening device, which mean that you can't poll and read tags without adding external components such as the Adafruit NFC shield. You can "send" data from the nRF52832 to the phone as shown in the NFC URL example. So yes, this should be fine with the nRF52832.
