How to turn off some apps? How to modify active reporting frequency?

By default the Thingy91 has many useful factors it can measure:

Pressure, Humidity, Temperature, Light, Position, Button, Flip, Signal, Voltage ...

I really only need Temperature, Flip and Position (GPS, not AGPS/Cell)

How do I turn the other apps off?

Also, I don't need reports every 2 minutes. I tried changing things with the "Device Configuration" panel in nrf cloud, but after I edit the values, and hit commit, they jump back to what they were before, and changes are not made it seems. How to change these?

These can be changed by altering the configurations described in this chapter:

You need to set these in your prj.conf to ensure that they're valid for every build that you create.

AGPS can be n-selected by setting config "CONFIG_NRF_CLOUD_AGPS=n"

Similar with cellular positioning: CONFIG_NRF_CLOUD_CELL_POS=n

For the specific features that you want to report, I would recommend that you set the interval for these, and the ones that you don't want to report / trigger on, you can set the interval higher.

I see in that document about configuration, the sentence:

Does it mean the nRF cloud can also configure these parameters without having to build a new firmware?

You can set a config from the nrfcloud frontend, by selecting your device and changing your wanted parameter in the "Device configuration" box:

That being said, I would still recommend that you tune the default values in firmware as well.

I notice that when I do this, the value changes when I click the pencil, but when I click Commit, it goes back to what it was before ?

Unfortunately, there seems to be an issue with the parsing on that UI device configuration. When changing, the firmware prints:

data_module: New GNSS timeout out of range: 0

I will report this internally to the cloud team. In the meanwhile, I would recommend setting these settings locally to the nRF instead.
