JLINK flashing doesn't work with nrf52840-dk 3.0.0

Hallo,

up to now I worked with nRF52840-DK 2.0.1. After compiling, flashing the board was quite comfortable by means of the JLINK drive, which automatically opens after power-on of the board - simply copying the hex file in that folder, the rest will be done automatically.

Now I extended the hardware, I have some new nRF52840-DK, now 3.0.0. When I switch them on, also a JLINK drive appears, and the readme still says: "SEGGER J-Link MSD volume.
This volume is used to update the flash content of your target device.", exactly the same as in version 2.0.1. But it doesn't flash the board. What have I to do to get back the comfortable flashing option by means of the JLINK?

As of today, this is not supported on the nRF52840-DK v3. Will likely be fixed sometime in the future, but no exact timeline as of now.

Hallo Sigurd,

what would be a suitable way to program the DKs? As reported in other posts, I see two COM ports when power-on a DK. I installed nRF Connect, but the programmer isn't able to locate a connected devise, there is (as far as I see) no way to specify a port. So how can I flash a hex file?

Hallo Sigurd,

I solved the problem. One can use nrfjprog for that prupose. It is essential to start with "nrfjprog --recover", after that one can program the 3.0.0-DKs with "nrfjprog --family NRF52 --program xxx.hex --sectorerase --verify --reset".
