Dear SRs

We are evaluating your NB-IoT solution by means of Thingy91 reference board. The NB-IoT service is working with iBASIS card, the question is: can we change the card to another manufacturer? For example, will it work if we change the SIM card to 1oT card provider or One Sim card that we can find in Digi-Key?

Hello, 

Yes, you can use any SIM card that supports NB-IoT  Make sure that the SIM card supports the network in your location. The iBasis SIM is a roaming SIM card which means it's allowed to roam on multiple networks all around the world. 

Is there a specific application you are targeting within NB-IoT?

Our application is home automation where WiFi signal is missing, for example in building basements.

Also, street lighting and electric vehicle street charging stations.

Yes, this sounds like a good application for NB-IoT. Make sure to test with both iBasis and local SIM to verify good connection to NB-IoT network.

I bought a SIM card by TRUPHONE from Digi-Key at https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/truphone-limited/sim-s-io3-tri-2-lp/11568181

and i can´t add/activate the card in your cloud service at https://nrfcloud.com/, see attached image with cloud answer.
