Is the nrf24L01p suitable for 30 units broadcasting to each other

I am in the startup phase of a uni-project and I would like to ask you about the feasibility of using the nrf24L01p with power amplifier as the radio module. Specifications:

Several nodes broadcasting approx. 100 bytes 2 times a second to all other nodes

Range approx. 500 meters. LOS

New nodes will constantly enter the area and other nodes will constantly leave the area

Hi,

Your requirement of 0.5 km LOS range could be hard to achieve, but it may work if you have:

• given a good external antenna (with corresponding GND plane)
• an effective output power of 20 dBm (using your external RF PA)
• Using 250 kBit on-air datarate mode

However; You will need to do some range testing to verify this on your design.

For the broadcasting, you can send on a given RF channel using "NOACK". Then any device listening to this address may receive the packet (if S/N is OK).
