Porting LittleFs on Nicla Sense ME: nRF52832

Hi,

We use nRF5 SDK v17.1.0 for custom application (bare-metal / without os). We are trying to port littlefs for External 2MB FLASH connected via QSPI.

Please let me know the configurations required and examples i can refer for the same.

Hi,

We don't have support for that in nRF5-SDK. But it might be possible to use, ref this post.  Do our nrf5 SDK support the transfer the FileSystem to our SoC?

For the nRF52-series chips, only the nRF52840 supports QSPI.

In datasheet it is specified as 'External 2MB FLASH connected via QSPI'. But I understood later by checking schematics that it is wrong. Thank you for sharing the right information.

Actually, the external flash is connected via SPIM interface.

Could you please share any sample flash driver connected via SPIM in nRF chip which can be ported or reused in nRF52832 ?

I have written the flash driver for SPIM interface. Tested basic functionalities like read/write/erase.

Currently working on porting littlefs. As nRF5 SDK v17.1.0 does not support LittleFS, can i assume there are no config parameters to be taken care (in sdk_config). 

To clarify it further, am i expected to port "GitHub - littlefs-project/littlefs: A little fail-safe filesystem designed for microcontrollers" completely to  nRF5 SDK v17.1.0.

Could you please clarify this. Thank you.

Hi,

we have integrated GitHub - littlefs-project/littlefs: A little fail-safe filesystem designed for microcontrollers with the nRF5 SDK v17.1.0.

Also referred the following porting example as well,

pyrinas-ble-client/fs.c at master · pyrinas-iot/pyrinas-ble-client · GitHub

But the mounting the filesystem itself is failing. Any suggestion on this please.

Generally, you need to check what error-codes you get returned, and run a debug session, and find out where the error-code originated from and why.
