To make sure that the nRF52840 SoC is not powered when the nRF power switch (SW8) is OFF.
So what happens if I power the nRF52840 SoC when the nRF switch (SW8) is ON ?

Hello,
Could you elaborate what your question is there?
You can indeed use the power switch (SW8) to make sure that the entire DK is turned off, by switching it to the OFF position. This is the best way to ensure that the DK (both debugger and the nRF SoC) is turned completely off.
Best regards,
Karl
sorry for the confusion, So what happens if I power the nRF52840 SoC when the nRF switch (SW8) is OFF ?

No need to apologize! :)

Power it how, do you mean that you have connected a battery or a voltage source to the external voltage connector?
Either way, the DK will be turned off for as long as the switch is in the OFF position, regardless of the power mode you are using.
I sense that the confusion here might stem from a misinterpreted section of the documentation or other writing. Could you point me to the source, or copy the entire section here, so that I can try to clear up any confusion?
Best regards,
Karl

Aha, thank you for clarifying.
This line must be read together with the following lines, which describes how the SW8 ensures that the nRF52840 SoC is turned off when the switch is in the OFF position.
Best regards,
Karl
Thank you for clarify.
