nrf52840 dongle BLE over UART without debugger.

Hi,

I was successfully able to flash the peripheral_uart code to the dongle and then connect to the Nordic APP.

But it does not connect with the UART when in BLE mode. I do not have a debugger with me. I do have USB to TTL converter with me but read in previous Q/As that it would not work.

I am pretty new to this. Kindly help, how to send data over UART while connecting to BLE like this, without debugger, if possible.

Hi Parnika, 

Could you explain how did you test UART feature with the dongle ? 
I don't think the peripheral_uart would create a virtual COM port from the USB interface. 

If you are getting started with Nordic I would suggest to get hold of a nRF52 Development Kit  instead of continue on the dongle. The dongle is not made as a development platform but as the hardware backend for nRF Connect Desktop app, and the sniffer.

Hi, 
The video you saw was from 3 years ago and the user was using nRF5 SDK. 
The user was modifying the ble_app_uart to use USBD to make a virtual COM port. You can do the same but you need to modify the example. 
I would strongly suggest you to get started with a Dev Kit instead. You will save a lot of time.
