Hello! I am a total newb but trying to self-learn embedded programming / electronics. I recently received a nRF52840 development kit and followed instructions at https://nordicsemi.com/start52840dk for connecting / testing.
I first tried to connect to my Macbook Air (M1, 2020) via USB (using USB port nearest to the switch) and switched the board's power button to USB. However, there was no popup on my Macbook and no LED turned on on the board. I then tried to remove the plastic under the battery and tried to turn the power switch to Li-Po but still, no LED is turning on. I also tried to push the buttons 1-4 but nothing happens, the LED remain turned off.
Is it possible that my board is defective? Is there another way to confirm the board is working? I didn't dare to follow instructions on how to program it yet since I wasn't able to validate that the board was working.
