ERROR Unsupported device. The detected device could not be recognized as neither JLink device nor Nordic USB device

Hi experts, 

I have a problem with programming NRF5340 SoC when using the NRF-Programmer tool. About our board, we use PCBA instead of NRF5340 Dev-Kit.

Step1: My coworker has flashed and erased OK when using SEGGER-J-Flash. The images below are described as flashing and erasing successfully.

Step2: When I received the board, I used the NRF-Programmer tool to flash new firmware to the device. I choose "peripheral_heart_rate_nrf5340_dk" firmware from this link for bring-up the new hardware purposes. The first flashing was successful as this log:

Please try to perform the recover procedure with nrfjprog as outlined here: https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/2.1.2/nrf/ug_nrf5340.html#readback-protection to see if nrfjprog can communicate with the target.

Also, I wonder if your board design includes the optional DCDC inductors (Reference circuitry)? Having the DCDC enabled (default if you build for nrf5340dk_nrf5340) without the inductors mounted can lead to programming issues like you are experiencing here.

Thank you for your quick response, we also reference one similar issue here: devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../266608. I wonder if is there any method to recover the board?. And we use LCD power for NRF5340. Thus, it does not have the inductors mounted.

My coworker reworked the board by supplying DECR= 1.12V, DECD=1.0V, then I erased the old firmware that enable DCDC. I have disabled DCDC as the code below:

CONFIG_BOARD_ENABLE_DCDC_APP=n

CONFIG_BOARD_ENABLE_DCDC_NET=n

CONFIG_BOARD_ENABLE_DCDC_HV=n

 

After flashing again and our board works well.
