Hi Excuse me:
               52840 has UART, UARTE0, and UARTE1. Can the three instances be initialized at the same time

UART0 and UARTE0 use much of the same HW resources and cannot be used at the same time. However, UARTE1 is independent and can be used at the same time as UART0/UARTE0. (You can read about Peripheral ID for details.)
