Installations issues for nRF SDK Connect on MacBook Pro - Mac OS Ventura (NR)

Hello

I tried to follow the instructions to install the nRF SDK Connect and I found the following issues:

There are 2 sets of instructions :

option 1 :

https://nrfconnect.github.io/vscode-nrf-connect/connect/install.html - correct

option 2 :

https://academy.nordicsemi.com/courses/nrf-connect-sdk-fundamentals/ - order is not correct

The points in the instructions are the same but not in the same order.

Also some of the very important steps are missing in option 2.

missing :

* On M1-based Mac machines, you must install the Universal version of SEGGER J-Link.

  1. nRF Command Line Tools and nRF Connect for Desktop are fully supported on Ubuntu version 20.04 LTS. If you are using Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, you must manually install the packages libhogweed and libnettle as dependencies of the Toolchain v2.0.0 package.

Also inside the "nrf command line tools" imagine you have the JLink installation. This one is the Intel one so information that is not good for Apple Silicon CPU's there should be a note

Also there is a missing TAG for the MacOS !

  • Hi Daniel,

Thank you for letting us know about the potential installation issues.

In your initial comment, I can see some empty spaces where I would expect some text. Is there any information missing or is it just a formatting issue? Is there a second line that you wanted to add?

Could you elaborate on these points? Could you specify the exact places where you think that information is missing, is not complete or needs to be changed?

    Best regards,
    Dejan
