nRF52 DK is not getting connected to programmer software.

I have installed nRF connect for desktop .In which I am trying to connect nRF 52 DK through programmer software. As soon as I connect the development kit via USB to type B cable to laptop, it shows J link. But it does not show nRF52DK. and programmer software shows unsupported device. How could  I resolve the issue.

  • Yes the flashing the SoC on the DK is working.I tried the hex file and LED1 is blinking.

Also the thing I observed that LED2 is contineously glowing but with very low intensity (Dimmed).

  • I see, that is a bit odd but I don't think that is necessarily any symptom of an issue on the DK.

What SoC is on the Minew chip?

How are you seeing it not working? Have you shorted anything on the DK previously?

    Could you answer these questions?

  • We are using MS50SFA-1Y10AIR Minew chip.

We have not shorted anything on DK.

We are seeing it as not working because as soon as we connect the tag connect cable to Debug out connector of DK.The programmer device list shows JLINK and if we disconnect tag connect cable from debug out connector, programmer device list shows nRF52DK.

We have also tried the connections suggested by you on P20. but here also if we short VDD and VTG,Programmer device list shows JLINK and if we open the VDD and VTG programmer device list shows nRF52DK.

It might be your JLink version or the version of nRF Connect for Desktop that is different from what I have on my end, but it isn't necessarily more odd than that. It would make sense to distinguish between programming the SoC on the DK and programming the Minew chip using the DK, and the connection showing up as JLink sounds like a good way of doing so. We could look through the release notes of the versions you have of JLink and nRF Connect for Desktop, though lets see if its even a problem first:

Could you try flashing something to the Minew chip?

  • Yes,I already tried to flash the Minew chip but it shows device is protected.
