nRF Machine Learning build error in china mainland

HI Devzone 

currently we try to build the \nrf\applications\machine_learning\ in china mainland.

but it always report below error. 

i check this website on browser looks like i can download the zip file 

and i also try to build this project under VPN network the result is same.

Question:

Do we have some workaround to avoid this issue ?

(NCS version 2.1.0/2.1.99)

Hello,

nRF machine learning sample comes with different build types. You need to include the proper build type while building the application. I assume you are working with nrf5340 So you can try by including:

west build -b nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp -d build_nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp -- -DCONF_FILE=prj.conf

I tried this with 5340 and is working fine. I am not sure if there is any issue in china(doesn't make much sense to me), will check with my colleagues and confirm it to you.

Hello,

Looks like issue is in downloading the zip file using the Cmake. As a work around download the zip file, then include the path of this file in CONFIG_EDGE_IMPULSE_URI.

In your case prj file inside ncs\v2.1.0\nrf\applications\machine_learning\configuration\nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp need to be changed. To be precise

instead of 

CONFIG_EDGE_IMPULSE_URI="">studio.edgeimpulse.com/.../download   include

CONFIG_EDGE_IMPULSE_URI="path/of/the/downloaded/file" (you can either use the absolute or relative path).
