Custom Ble Scan Data

Hello:

        I want to ask you, we want to add our own custom data in the Ble scan response package, including Company ID,

we know Nordic's company Id is 0x59, can we change Company Id to any value, such as 0x007F, will it be affected by some terms?

Hi Ben_iot,

It is affected by some terms. In particular, the Company ID is governed by the Bluetooth SIG. You could read more about it here: https://support.bluetooth.com/hc/en-us/articles/360062030092-Requesting-Assigned-Numbers

The list of current registered Company IDs can be found here: https://www.bluetooth.com/specifications/assigned-numbers/

In that list, you can see that 0x007F is already reserved by a different company. You can also see that for the purpose of R&D testing, 0xFFFF might be used. However, it cannot be used for end products. You will need to register a Company ID with the Bluetooth SIG.
