run ZAP tool failed

Hello，

Add a cluster based on the matter/template example in ncs2.1.2. When I run the " scripts\tools\zap\run_zaptool.sh ..\..\..\nrf\samples\matter\sensor\src\template.zap "command, the following window appears.

After waiting a while, the above window exits and the Zigbee Cluster Configurator window does not run. I can't see the log message in the window because the window exits too quickly when the message appears. I used the same method two days before the test is normal, today I tried again and failed, too strange.

Hi,

It looks like you are using a quite old version of npm. Can you try to upgrade it to a more recent version? The latest version now seems to be 9.1.3.

Hi Jørgen,

I spent almost a whole day trying various versions of npm in Windows 10, with all sorts of weird problems, but finally failed, so I decided to switch to ubuntu 20.4 to save the installation trouble on windows.

Changed to ubuntu 20.04 but reported error code 1 when executing the “

./scripts/tools/zap/generate.py ../../../nrf/samples/matter/template/src/template.zap ”

command.

I also refer to the Marte's method in this discussion, but it doesn't seem to work for me.

What is the output from "npm version" on that OS? I got similar errors when installing the latest node.js version (v19.x.x). After downgrading to node.js v16.x.x, the error went away.

Hi Jørgen，

1. The following is the version information for Windows 10. 

 The window is unexpected quit after the command is executed.

2. In Ubuntu 20.04, node.js fell back to V16.8.1 and was recompiled, but error 1 still appeared.
