How to retrieve an eUICC ID?

Hi there,

We are doing some testing on an eSIM with the nrf9160 DK, and we are looking for an AT command that can be used to read the eUICC ID of the SIM. We are using the Serial LTE Modem application, which is then controlled by an external MCU.

We have noted the "Request ICCID %XICCID" at command, however we would like to be able to read the EID as well in addition to the ICCID. Please refer to this article on the difference between the 2.

Is there an AT command for this?

I may have a solution. Please try the following commands:

Channel Open and ECASD AID Select

AT+CCHO="A0000005591010FFFFFFFF8900000200"
+CCHO: 1
OK

Get EID from GET DATA command

AT+CGLA=1,10,"81CA005A00"
+CGLA: 40,"5A10890330233113300000000003515530729000"

Channel close

AT+CCHC=1
OK

The green part should be your eUICC/EID.

Thanks Michal, will investigate this further in the week. 

Are these AT commands documented somewhere? It does not appear to be in the AT command manual so it is a bit difficult to understand what is going on in the abovementioned AT command sequence.

It does not appear currently in the AT command manual, that is true. I will try to ask about it.

As far as I know it is based on the ETSI TS 101 220 standard. You can find a blog post about it here.
