If you do serial DFU you can use the SINGLE_APPLICATION_SLOT configuration to do single bank DFU, but this will not work with BLE unfortunately.
When doing OTA DFU using Bluetooth you will be using the application itself to download the new image into flash, which means you need dual bank support.
