Changing BLE TX power

Dear Support Team ,

We are using nRF51824 Auto grade BLE SOC for our upcoming product.

Following are the details 

- SDK = nRF5_SDK_12.3.0

- example code = ble_app_uart

Issue / Support required for - 

1) How to know current BLE TX power setting?

2) How to change ( increase / decrease ) TX power ?  

3) Is there any specific location in code where we need to call function / instruction to change power or it can be done anywhere in logic ?

4) Do we need to set TX power for advertising packet and data packet after connection ? or there is one setting for both ?

Sample example code snippet will be helpful along with reply .

Hi!

1)

If you haven't changed the TX-power the default value is 0 dbm.

2).

To set the TX power you can use the function sd_ble_gap_tx_power_set().

3)

It can be done pretty much anywhere. But if you use the sd function, you will need to initialize the sd first.

4)

In SDK v.12.x this function will set for both.
In later versions of the SDK this is changed so you can change the tx power for advertising or connection.
