nrf9160 LwM2M carrier library compatibility matrix

Hello,

We are planning to integrate the LwM2M carrier library. Our system uses mfw 1.3.3 and NCS 2.1.0.

Based on the following page

we need to use LwM2M carrier library version 0.30.2 in order to meet Verizons certification requirements.

The second table for AT&T and T-Mobile US does not specify a version for modem firmware v1.3.3 or SDK 2.1.0.

Based on the wording used ("Operators requiring LwM2M carrier library" vs "Operators with certified LwM2M carrier library") I understand that  AT&T and T-Mobile US do not require the LwM2M carrier library for certification. Is this correct?

Will the library version 0.30.2 work for AT&T and T-Mobile US (in combination with mfw 1.3.3 and NCS 2.1.0) as well?

Hi,

Based on the wording used ("Operators requiring LwM2M carrier library" vs "Operators with certified LwM2M carrier library") I understand that  AT&T and T-Mobile US do not require the LwM2M carrier library for certification. Is this correct?

For AT&T and T-Mobile US there are some requirements that must be met in order to certify, and one of the options for fulfilling those requirements is to use the LwM2M carrier library. If not using the LwM2M carrier library then that functionality must be covered through other means.

Will the library version 0.30.2 work for AT&T and T-Mobile US (in combination with mfw 1.3.3 and NCS 2.1.0) as well?

Only the versions listed contain the functionality needed.

Please note that these requirements are tied to what operator you use for the device (the operator of the SIM card), which may differ from the operator of the network (in the case of roaming). I do not know the specifics of roaming agreements in North America, but if for instance the US operators allow roaming from Bell Canada, then no LwM2M would be needed for Bell Canada devices roaming in the US. (There will of course be other tradeoffs, such as cost and availability of roaming, etc.)
