how to test and configurate sensor cadence ?

Hi

I am using ...\examples\sensor\client\sensor_client_nrf52833_xxAA_s113_7_2_0.emProject and ...\examples\sensor\server\sensor_server_nrf52833_xxAA_s113_7_2_0.emProject in SDK to test sensor cadence:

first , set parameter in client model, as follow

p_cadence->fast_period_exponent = 4; /* fast period divisor is 2^7 = 64 */
p_cadence->trigger_type = 0;
p_cadence->p_trigger_delta_down[0] = 1;
p_cadence->p_trigger_delta_up[0] = 1;
p_cadence->min_interval_exponent = 1;
p_cadence->p_fast_cadence_low[0] = 0;
p_cadence->p_fast_cadence_high[0] = 49;

second ,   adjust measured value to 20,  because it is within p_fast_cadence_low and p_fast_cadence_high, so I can see the publish message frequently.

when I adjust value from 20 to 22, according to  (22-20 =2)  > p_trigger_delta_up,  it should publish, but why it can not publish?

Could you help me please?

  • Hi,

    Have you configured periodic publication on the sensor model?

    Do you get any errors or warnings in the logs from the device?

    Do you see any publications before you increase the sensor value?

    One common reason for lack of publication is if the model is not configured with a publish address.

    Sometimes there will be publication, but the error is in the receiving device. For instance if the publication is to a group address and the receiving node is not configured to subscribe to that group address. Another common error source is if the client and server models are not configured with the same application key.

    Please also note that for new project we recommend nRF Connect SDK, since the older nRF5 SDK is now in maintenance mode. See nRF Connect SDK and nRF5 SDK statement for details. nRF Connect SDK has support for all Bluetooth mesh models, including the sensor model.
