BLE Audio Understanding

Hi,

I’m trying to understand the bigger picture related to BLE Audio in order to create a simple wildlife monitoring project. The hardware I’m thinking about is a nRF5340 based module plus an I2S microphone as the source and an iPhone as a receiver. My search doesn’t give me the results, so let me ask the following questions:

• Is BLE Audio supported on major OS’es?
• Is BLE Audio supported/will be on nRFConnect on iPhone?

Is BLE Audio supported on major OS’es?

I do not have an overview of what operating systems that support BLE Audio. From what I know, based on one of our demos, Android does support this in their Pixel 7.

The hardware I’m thinking about is a nRF5340 based module plus an I2S microphone as the source and an iPhone as a receiver.

Have a look at our nRF5340 Audio DK, and our nRF5340 Audio application in our nRF Connect SDK.

Thank you Øyvind for your answer, much appreciate it. I have all of your DKs. Give me a few days to go through the links and try the nrF5340 Audio application in nRF Connect SDK. My understanding is that Nordic iPhone application doesn't support BLE Audio, yet. Is it correct and if yes is it expected for that support to come?

There are no mobile applications from Nordic Semiconductor that supports BLE Audio at the moment.
