nPM1100 possible to connect ISET to VOUTB

In the product specification of nPM1100, for fixed 500mA charging limit, ISET should be connected to VSYS. In the USB-configuration (Configuration 3) ISET is connected to MCU GPIO, which I then assume will have a HIGH voltage of VOUTB.

Is it safe to hardwire ISET to VOUTB for setting the charging limit to fixed 500mA?

Hi Rein,

The ISET only sets the current that can be drawn from VBUS and not the charging current. S it would be better to connect the ISET to either VSYS or let the USB port detect it. This is better than selecting it along with MCU.

The VIH is a min of 1.1V. So anything between 1.1V and SYS is detected as HIGH.

Also, in Config3, the VOUBSET1 is grounded, so The VOUTB will be 2.1V.
