Complete reset of nrf9160

  A colleague of mine was playing around with the modem settings for a 9160 and now the device refuses to connect to the cellular network. 

  I've reflashed the device including at_client. I've reflashed the modem. I've tried multiple, known good SIMs. I've tried the nrfjprog --recover command. Nothing seems to fix the problem.

  Application firmware runs, the other parts of the 9160 seem to be working fine. It just won't connect.

  Is there anything else I can try to reset/recover the 9160? Thanks.

Can you expand on refuses to connect?  Do you mean in LTE link monitor it never registers to a tower or it never even sees a tower to register to?

Just tried with at_client. Here's the output after I hit the 'search networks' button:

AT+COPS=?

Got it, so your device can see the towers, it just isn't registering.  The good news is it means the device and antennas are functional.  Since you have tried reflashing the software and device firmware, try the AT command 

%XFACTORYRESET=0

If that doesn't get you connected, maybe your AT_client example code was modified.  You can always download a new NCS repo and try again from a known good at_client copy.
