Mesh v5.0.0 sensor periodic measurement

Hello,

i'm using nRF5 SDK 17.0.2and  nRF5 SDK for Mesh v5.0.0 using the examples sensor client and server.

I am trying to create a function that makes the client client send mesure request periodicaly. (every 0.5 sec i want a measured value). I tried simulating button press to trigger the event in software but i got errors. I know it isn't good idea anyway.

How to trigger that event without any erros from function outside event_handler ?

What did you try to do (can you please show me some snippets) ? And what errors did you see?

Did you try using e.g. the application timer to trigger the sensor measurements/broadcasts?

Hi, i tried to use app_scheduler (img below) and then i tried to trigger it by using function(simple button_evt_handler...(3) ) in main loop. I got error "Mesh error 5 " after provisioning. I also tried to use aplication timer from example (\examples\peripheral\timer), but i got diffrent error (i tried it month ago and i dont have the file) meaby because i implemented it wrong.

If is there option to abbandon the usage of buttons i would love to use it since it will reduce the memory usage.

The app_timer is not used in the SDK\examples\peripheral\timer example.

Look at the SDK\examples\ble_peripheral\ble_app_hrs example, which uses the app_timer to trigger a lot of things, such as the battery_level_meas_timeout_handler().

Just out of curiosity, are you able to send the sensor updates using an actual button press?

yes buttons work and i get the value . I will try to use the example you mentioned.
