Serial Peripheral Interface

Hello team,

                  In my previous ticket, https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/94814/serial-peripheral-interface, I have posted queries related to SPI protocol concerned to nRF52840 DK. Due to the absence of the engineer that responded earlier, I have been asked to raise a new ticket in continuation to the previous ticket.

                  My new query is as follows:

                  I have now ordered an external SPI slave device (EEPROM), as there are no slave devices on board that supports SPI peripheral. Does the APIs given in https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/index.jsp?topic=%2Fsdk_nrf5_v16.0.0%2Fgroup__nrfx__spi.html&anchor=gaa882c9d38c2a3c714123cc807757d9bb sufficient to interface with the external device? How can I write and read data from the slave device? Kind advice please.

Hi,

The SPI driver interface you refer to handles generic SPI communication where the nRF is the master (you may also want to look at the SPIM driver, which is for the SPI master peripheral with DMA). This does not specifically support any SPI flash though, so you will need to check the datasheet of the SPI flash you are using and how to interface with it.
