Improvement request for BLE sniffer's Wireshark plugin

Dear Support,

I am using the nRF Sniffer for Bluetooth LE which is a very neat tool indeed (thank you for providing it to the community!).

There is a little thing however that could improve its usage: we have in our office hundreds of advertising beacons; this makes the selection of the device in Wireshark sniffer's toolbar very inefficient.

I am using the rssi capture filter, but this only filters part of those devices.

Could you possibly in a future version add some more capture filters, e.g. on the device's MAC address, or a substring of the device's name?

Understandable.

I will look into if there are any obvious filters that could make it easier for you tomorrow, though I don't think we can offer much more than what comes with the Wireshark extension.

Hello again,

So you can filter on the devices MAC address. Simply choose Follow LE Address, and input the full 6 Byte LE address, separating each byte with a colon and append the address type ("public" or "random"). For more info, see here.
