Matter version of Weather Station example is ignoring the specification

brief:

The Zigbee version fo the example was ported to matter. Both standards use ZAP files for the definitions, but have smaller differences in their specification. The Matter examples ignores one detail.

details:

It's all about the pressure sensor of the weather station. It's used as an air pressure sensor for obvious reasons.

Pressure clusters have the cluster ID 773 or 0x0305.

definition zigbee:

4.5 Pressure Measurement

4.5.1 Overview Please see Chapter 2 for a general cluster overview defining cluster architecture, revision, classification, identification, etc. The server cluster provides an interface to pressure measurement functionality, including configuration and provision of notifications of pressure measurements.

definition matter device:

7.5. Pressure Sensor
A Pressure Sensor device measures and reports the pressure of a fluid.

src: matter device library

special detail:

This was only for the device! Not for the cluster itself!

definition matter pressure cluster:

This cluster provides an interface to pressure measurement functionality, including configuration
and provision of notifications of pressure measurements.

extra info:

I did not use zigbee. Maybe it's also wrong there.

  • Hi,

I do not understand what you mean is incorrect or ignored in the Matter weather station. According to the Matter Device Library specification (as well as the Zigbee specification), the Pressure Sensor device is used to measure the pressure of a fluid, and a fluid can be liquid or gas. In this case, it is used to measure the pressure of a gas, namely air pressure. I also verified that the mandatory clusters are added to the device in ZAP.

    Best regards,

    Marte
