Whether the precompiled nRF52833 mesh bootloader file has the watchdog function?

Hi,

"mesh_bootloader_gccarmemb_nrf52833_xxAA.hex" is precompiled file of SDK,

Does "mesh_bootloader_gccarmemb_nrf52833_xxAA.hex" have the watchdog function?

if not , May I know how I can add watchdog quickly, please?

mesh SDK path:    ..\bin\bootloader\gccarmemb

  • Hi Tom Li,

The bootloader doesn't have WDT implemented.
You can take a look at the bootloader source code at \mesh\bootloader.
You can modify and compile it. If you look at the documentation here, at the Requirements section you can see how you can build it.
I haven't tried for a long time but you can try calling this:

    cmake BUILD_BOOTLOADER -DTOOLCHAIN=gccarmemb -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=MinSizeRel ..

There is a SES project for the bootloader that I made long time ago that you can try  Stepping through nRF Mesh Bootloader code in Segger Embedded Studio

Please note that the bootloader run concurrently with the application when receiving new image in background mode. So if you handle the WDT in the application it should be enough.
