Reading out "user" data in matter factory configuration

Hi,

I was looking at the factory configuration data for Matter, and it states that it allows the user to pass arbitrary data in the form the "user" field in the JSON (https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/matter/nrfconnect_factory_data_configuration.html).

However, there does not actually seem to be a way to read that data back in the application, it gets read out by the FactoryDataParser, but the FactoryDataProvider does not seem to expose the field, nor does it expose the raw mFlashFactoryData.

So I'm now wondering how to get a hold of the data that was written there (it's in the mFlashFactoryData but the API doesn't seem to have a method to access it).

Another question I have here is why is this defined as a JSON string? If the matter stack doesn't use it, and it is encoded as a string, why would we even bother to force it to be a JSON? Isn't it up to the application to decide how it wants to encode the data?

This was an oversight from our side, but the feature has been enhanced. See https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-nrf/pull/9772 for sdk-nrf changes, and https://github.com/project-chip/connectedhomeip/pull/24088 for upstream changes. I hope the fixes and the new documentation section will help to get a hold of that feature.
