pc-ble-driver for BLE Mesh

I am using nrf52840 DK with the Connectivity file "connectivity_4.1.4_1m_with_s132_5.1.0.hex" and the soft device "s140_nrf52_7.2.0_softdevice". I am using the pc-ble-driver on the Linux platform to run the heart rate collector and heart rate monitor application.

Can I use the pc-ble-driver for BLE mesh Provisioning and configuration? I want to provision the BLE mesh node from the application (running on Linux) using the pc-ble-driver. Does the px-ble-driver support the mesh functionality?

  • Hi,

I am sorry, but pc-ble-driver has implemented BLE only, and does not contain Bluetooth mesh (which builds on top of BLE).

For nRF5 SDK for Mesh (now in maintenance mode) you can have a look at the Serial interface, which lets you control a mesh node over a serial connection. It works similar to pc-ble-driver, in that you need one device connected to the PC, for providing connectivity to the PC, and then you run a script on the PC for controlling that device.

For nRF Connect SDK (recommended SDK) you can have a look at using BlueZ with Zephyr.

    Regards,
    Terje
