Radar Detection and DFS with nRF7002

Dear Nordic team,

we are evaluating the nRF70 series for an application, where we would like to monitor the radar detection results.

In Linux user space the retrievable information using the iwi tool is quite limited in its granularity. Ideally we would like to configure the radar detection directly inside of the open source driver on host side and receive detection events, if the nRF7002 detects anything.

Is there documentation available on the potential configuration options and Is it possible to activate/deactive the radar detection on channel granularity from the host, or is it region locked inside of the nRF7002 itself?

Here is the reply from the Wi-Fi team:

nRF7002 does not have the ability to perform radar detection. This is only necessary when operating in softAP or Wi-Fi Direct modes in the DFS channels. When we support these modes, we will restrict operation to non-DFS channels. This is typical behaviour for predominantly STA devices.
