Taiyo Yuden EYSKJNZWB (nrf52840) + nRF Connect

Dear gurus,

App made with nRFConnect (Toolchain 2.2.0 + VSCode + Win10) works excellent on nRF52840-DK but not on own PCB with EYSKJNZWB.

Using "zephyr.hex" as output, which programs nicely to other DK board.

PCB and flash programming verified on the PCB - have old Segger app (SDK 17.0.0 / SoftDevice s140) working since 2 years.

Had to change some clock-defines in the old sdk_config.h, so I suspect 32kHz xtal is the problem now again.

Added "CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_RC=y" to the prj.cfg - but still dead as a doornail..

What have I missed?

Hi Björn,

Have you tried any other example that doesn't use the LFCLK ? Something simple, like the blinky example ? 
You still need to configure CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_RC=y to make the blinky works. 
I attached here the 2 hex files for blinky (LED1 P0.13 is blinked) and peripheral_lbs that works with my board that doesn't have 32kHz crystal.

Sorry, but P0.13 is not available on my PCB, but I can see that something is working because it consumes power.

Can´t say the same for "peripheral_lbs_RC" - it consumes a steady 590uA but I cant see anything in my nRFConnect in phone.

Hi Bjørn, 

I create a new board ("Create a new board" button in VS Code) and  tried with peripheral_hr with 

CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_RC=y and it worked for me. 
It requires me to do a power reset or pin reset before it start advertising but I guess it has something to do with how I connect the board with the programmer. 

I attached here the hex file of the peripheral_hr that worked for me. In addition the blinky hex that blinks pin DTPC (P0.06) 
Please have a look at the board file inside peripheral_hr\boards

Make sure when you build your application, use the custom module dts board file (in my case I used mymodule.dts) instead of the nrf52840_nrf52840dk.

Thank´s a million for all your efforts!

Both your pre-compiled examples works perfect.

Have also checked all the "board" files, and they match my own except that I used pin configuration from your earlier code example.

Furthermore my old "blinky" now also works  - once I removed it from the DK-board I used as programmer... Shame on me...

I'm happy to help.  Glad that all works now.
I would assume the board should also work if you do a pin reset/power reset/ or most convenient : "nrfjprog.exe -r" reset.

Hi Hung,

Yes, my standard way of flashing also works OK as usual - if avoiding Win10.  (Win10 problems the reason I first tried using the DK board as programmer after your tip)

Please keep the board - maybe it will inspire your co-workers to re-introduce a small, bare-bone as the truly minimalistic  400059.
