IPv6 address prefix

Hello !

I can see Zephyr is always allocate link local address with prefix fe80

Ethernet capabilities supported:
IPv6 unicast addresses (max 3):
fe80::200:5eff:fe00:5300 autoconf preferred infinite
IPv6 multicast addresses (max 4):
ff02::1
ff02::1:ff00:5300
IPv6 prefixes (max 2):
<none>

 This is according standard for sure but sometimes other prefix is need.

Can it be set to fd00, fc00 or any other one by using some configuration flag ?

I am not sure which sample or library you are working with now.

As OpenThread document mentioned, IPv6 Addressing  |  OpenThread, different IPv6 address has their own usage scope. You can refer to OpenThread source codes to see how they are assigned and used.

Hi Charlie !

So it is not possible to replace fe80 to fd00.

But one interface can have 3 addresses  ( or even more ) for example :

fe80::

fd00::

2001:db8::1  global

And via CONFIG lines I can assign only 1 custom address, other addresses assigned automatically or in source code.

Or via CONFIG can assign several ipv6 addresses ?
