Cannot select nrfConnect SDK in Visual Code

Hi,

I have been succesfull working with SES in the past but I understand that nrfConnect + VS + zephyr  is the new way to go.

I have been struggling to install nrfConnect and  VisualCode on my Mac. I lately erase everything and restart from the beginning. 

I have installed the nrfConnect SDK and toolchain with the NRFConnect app for Desktop on my Mac (montereyOS), following the instructions. I have then installed the Visual Code. Extensions  have been installed from nrfConnect as indicated in the instruction. In the VS nrfConnect welcome page, I cannot select the SDK. The pull down menu is inactive.  I can select the toolchain.    I have uninstalled , reinstalled the VS Nordic extensions without success.

The  SDK path is the following: /opt/nordic/ncs/v2.2.99-dev3

The toolchain path:  /opt/nordic/ncs/toolchains/v2.2.99-dev3

I have also tried to set the application location   as : /Users/SL/NrfConnectApps but I get the following message : cannot create an new application within an existing west workspace.This error occurs since I have tried to do an unsuccessful manual  reinstalled.

How do I fix these issues.   thanks in advance for your help.

Hello

You should be able to set the Toolchain Path and Topdir in

File > Preferences > Settings > Extensions > nRF Connect

If you're still not able to set the environment, you might have to set up a new workspace (make a new "applications folder" and open it as a workspace in VS Code)

This is the actual settings for the nrf Connect:  

Toolchains : ${nrf-connect.toolchain:2.2.99-dev3}

Topdir:  ${nrf-connect.sdk:2.2.99-dev3}

Toolchains is working fine.  I have tried to enter :  /opt/nordic/ncs/v2.2.99-dev3 but that does not work either.
