nRF51822 DevKit With No Flashing LED

My DevKit arrived today. Very nice.

Plugged it into my mac, immediately recognized as USB device. Flashing LED, mounted as storage device, etc.

Tried to enter Bootloader mode by pressing button, waiting for flashing LED. That's where things went off the rails. As soon as the bootloader mounted as a USB device, the LED stopped showing anything. Tried

-- powering off everything and starting again; -- powering on, holding IF RESET button, power-cycling, held button for 60 sec; -- powered off, holding IF RESET button, powered on, held button for 60 sec; -- repeated with and without coin battery; -- repeated on three computers, two macs, one windoze; -- installed J-Link software and none of those utilities could see nor connect to device.

No LED, no signs of life. Suggestions?

Thanks for the help.

  • Thanks for the feedback. Yes, started with Chapter 3 and did the recommended steps. What I think may have happened is that the device got disconnected midway, and has neither the J-Link nor the mbed loaded at the minute. Trouble is, the LED won't turn on, nor blink. And the device isn't recognized as a USB device on any of the computers around here (macs and pcs). Also opened a trouble ticket case, so perhaps that may give us some ideas.
