Help with Power Cluster for Matter

I am having a hard time finding out how to expose the “Battery Level” in the Home app for a Matter Device. 

CSA advised the following:

Q) How do I expose Battery Levels to the Home app and or Google Home app. I am currently using Nordic’s Matter SDK.

A) I’d recommend looking at the Power Source Cluster, see section “11.7. Power Source Cluster” from the Matter Specification. I’m not sure how Nordic has implemented it, but you can confirm with them.

 I cannot see in the Power Cluster or Zap File on how to expose it.

Hi Sam,

If you successfully follow Adding clusters to Matter application — nRF Connect SDK 2.3.0 documentation (nordicsemi.com).

You would be about to find and enable the Power Source cluster from CHIP category. It has one attribute called BatVoltage can be used.

Thank you for this. We have the BatVoltage enabled and unfortunately it is not showing up in the Home app.

Ok, did you also update this value as the temperature sensor does? any chance to see the temperature sensor value?

I will try to get an iOS to do the test tomorrow.

I tried the temperature sensor example listed here (https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/nrf/protocols/matter/getting_started/adding_clusters.html)

I must be doing something wrong because temperature is not showing either in the Home app.

Hi Sam,

Based on the current Google and Apple ecosystems' GUI, I cannot find any field which represents values from Power Source Cluster either. You may check with them if they have the plan to add support for this cluster.

For the temperature cluster, the temperature GUI should work in both Apple and Google. We test it regularly using our weather station app which incorporates temperature and humidity sensors. You can refer to this sample. Thingy:53: Matter weather station — nRF Connect SDK 2.3.99 documentation (nordicsemi.com).
