Using pair of TWS earbuds with nrf5340 Audio example.

Hi, I am trying to evaluate the nrf5340 for a transmitter application. This transmitter would need to work with many types of bluetooth audio sinks.

I have the audio example up and running in CIS mode, using the usb audio source.  The example uses three audio dk's to show an example gateway + 2 headphones.

I have this configured on the standard nrf5340_dk, not the audio_dk.

How would I go about configuring this example to pair with a nearby device?

  • Hi,

Hi, I am trying to evaluate the nrf5340 for a transmitter application. This transmitter would need to work with many types of bluetooth audio sinks.

Which types of audio sinks do you consider using with your application?

How would I go about configuring this example to pair with a nearby device?

Which devices do you want to pair?

Could you provide more information about your application and your use case?

    Best regards,
    Dejan

  • I apologize, I bought the development board before I was able to find a real answer to how current TWS earbuds work.

I did not realize just how new ble audio was and made a bad assumption that tws used ble. I've learned they use a dual mode classic + ble in many cases. I'm fairly new to bluetooth and was jumping in on the deep end. As I understand it, Nordic only makes hardware for BLE applications, and the ble audio won't be very useful until more products come to market.

As I was interested in making a generic audio transmitter, I may need to look elsewhere.

I enjoyed using the DK/SDK though, props to the team on a nice dev environment!

You could have a look at Nordic product portfolio. If you are specifically interested in BLE Audio, we have both nRF53 audio hardware development board and software sample. You could have a look at nRF5340 Audio hardware and nRF5340 Audio application. Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you have any further questions.
