Programming the nRF52805 with the nRF52840 DK

Hello. I am trying to program a custom board that has the nRF52805, using a nRF52840 DK. Should this be possible?

I used an example code as starting point, "pin_change_int_pca10040". As I understand it, I need to use the pca10040 version of the example code for the nRF52805. I can connect to the target and I can see on the SWDIO and SWDCLK pins that it's trying to program the custom board. However, the custom board is not doing anything after flashing. I am at the moment trying to simply turn on an LED.

Hi Niclas, 

Did you do any modification to the pca10040 project ? 
Without modification it won't work on the nRF52805 as it's made for nRF52832.

Ok, thank you. I found another template project which was named pca10040e, which I was able to flash on the nRF52805. Maybe I can use that project as a starting point instead.

If you have a look here you can find that PCA10040e is the project to emulate nRF52810 on the PCA10040. 

nRF52810 is very close to the nRF52805. But they are not completely compatible. Please see the comparison here. So you may need to slightly modify. But yes you can use that as the base.
