Powering the nRF7002 DK through VIN pin doesn't work as expected

I want to power the nRF7002 DK through the VIN pin (3-5V) for a prototype, but I get no response from the board when hooking up a 5V power supply to VIN and GND.

Am I doing something wrong? Is GND DETECT supposed to be used as ground when powering through VIN?

I have searched the documentation but can't find any information on the specifics of powering through an external source.

Thank you for contacting DevZone at NordicSemi.

No, Please do not use ground detect. It could be used for programming / debugging another chip.

Please use GND pin instead to power up the DK.

Hi Naeem,

These are the exact pins I'm using, and no LEDs are lighting up on the DK, and the program does not run (I have some Wi-Fi UDP streaming running in the application.

VIN is also hardly drawing any power (measured by my lab supply).

Has it perhaps got anything to do with the USB detection circuit or perhaps I need to build for production (no debugging) for it to work off of VIN?

Hi Rune,

You can see I am powering the DK as through Vin and Gnd.

The LED is blinking as per application and I have repeated it several times.

(no other connections are made other than two wires shown)

I'm very sorry for the hassle I put you through Naeem, the fault fas all mine. I had a grounding issue that was hard to track down. Everything is working as expected now. If possible you can remove this whole issue thread to limit the confusion it may cause for others. Again – I'm so very sorry!
