FANSTEL BT840XE with nRF52 DK eval kit.

Hello,

I am trying to evaluate FANSTEL module BT840XE (which is using the nordic nRF52840 SoC). I am trying to flash the firmware with nRF52 DK eval board as mentioned by Fanstel's website.

However I had the following questions:

1. In Nordic's website the nRF 52 DK can be used for SoC's nrF52832 and nRF52810. Can the nRF52 DK eval board be used for BT840XE which utilizes nRF52840 SoC? Your website does not say it can but can you please confirm on this please? Would you recommend me using nRF52840 eval board kit instead?

2. Can you please share example of nRF52840 Bluetooth range measurement example code? Can you also provide an example on how to calculate the RSSI value in this case?

Looking forward to your response.

Regards

Surya

  • Thanks Swathy. I was able to flash a blinky example.

Am i correct in doing the following to flash:

    1. with the nrF 52840 board, I slid the SW9 to USB source, connected the micro USB port to my laptop. Then the 10 pin cable from Debug out to the Jtag connector of the fanstel BT840XE module connected to my laptop as well through USB source. This is how I was able to flash.

I did go through the link that you had. Thanks for that.

The goal for me is to flash the Nordic's long range test measurement code on the FANSTEL module so that I could evaluate the distance measure of the FANSTEL BT840XE module. Can I flash the existing code that I use to flash just the nrF52840 but now flash the same code on the the FANSTEL BT840XE module?

I am sure you or your team would have experience this sort of a question. Any ideas or help on this would be greatly appreciated.
