Trying to debug in VS Code

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to debug in VS Code, through nRF Connect (and other pluggins related to nRF Connect for VS Code Extension Pack). My host is Windows 10 Enterprise, SDK v2.2.0, nRF Connect latest version. J-Link installed is 7.88 (latest too).

I'm using J-link to flash and debug. However, the device is not shown in 'Connected Devices' field. The command nrfjprog --deviceversion gives me J-link ID and the board microcontroller (nRF52840). But, nrfjprog --com does not show the port com where j-link is connected.

I can program through Programmer in nRF Connect for Desktop, where the J-link is shown. But I need to debug too.

What is caiusing this sittuation? How can I turn around this problem? Is there a way to debug through nrfjprog command?

Hi Leonardo,

Are you able to find your device in the device list of the PC? And does the corresponding COM port show up there?

Also, which board are you using? Is it an nRF52840DK?

I can see it in USB Controllers list, but I can't it in COM Port list

My board is an autoral custom board.

This is my Device Manager (is in Portuguese). In Port (Portas) there is only my Serial Converter and J-Link driver appears in USB Controllers (Controladores USB):

Hi Leonardo,

Could you try nrfjprog -i? Is the device shown?

Also, have your tried nrfjprog --eraseall followed by nrfjprog --recover?

Do you still get the problem?

nrfjprog -i works, I can see J-Link's ID

nrfjprog --eraseall followed by nrfjprog --recover didn't work, the problem still remains
