Beacon scenario

Hi,

I wanted to know that if I have e.g. 10 beacons placed in the super market. Let say I am in the meat section and there are three beacons among which I am close to one and little bit far from other.

Is it possible to find out based on RSSI values that I am exactly close to one beacon not to other two. Although I am getting signals from all three beacons.

Is it possible to measure distance between the beacon in such scenario ?

In general yes. The question is "how accurate you can get" and the answer to that is worth a book and several million USD business;)

Alright! so do you have any ready made program or app which can calculate location based on RSSI values and can tell how far I am from other beacon ?

I think accuracy depends on many factors.

You cannot simply convert RSSI to location/distance, as you don't know the performance of the antenna of the transmitter (beacon) and the receiver (phone). You could have a look on nRF Beacon app to see how typical beacon app works.

Well you can do it in scenario of multiple beacons (radio sources) and known topology but it's really complex task and you need to fulfill many assumptions...

Assumption like what ? Can I make app in the phone which can calculate distance based on RSSI values ? Also can tell approximately how far I am from other beacons which are connected at that time ?

Can you tell me in short about those assumptions ?
