Using nRF5340 with openOCD

I'm working on a new project in which I will require flashing code on RF5340 from raspberry pi4 using openOCD via SWD pins , from what i can tell from a quick search is that openOCD doesn't specifically support this nordic chip , if anyone can advise regarding this issue that will helpful , thank you ,

That's correct. 

What nRF5340 device are you using? Custom board or nRF5340DK? If it's nRF5340DK, it already has an onboard debugger. so, It doesn't need an extra debugger. If it's a custom board that needs a debugger, you could use nRF5340DK. See Debug out for programming external boards.

Thanks for your answer , I'm using a custom board with nRF5340 chip , will be programmed using the nRF5340DK , is there any guide on connecting the DK with the raspberry pi 4 to flash the nRF chip?

Hi, 

The hardware connection is the same. See Debug out for programming external boards.

For programming software, you can use nrfjprog by installing the nRF Command Line Tool. Also check the following posts:
